Membership of the premier trade body for the wood protection industry is not just a matter of paying a subscription. Companies who successfully apply to become a member of the WPA, and who may display the association’s logo, will have satisfied the association with regard to:

Manufacturers/suppliers:

• Manufacture of products under a QA scheme such as ISO 9000 supervised by an accredited certification body

• Environmental and health & safety standards in manufacture, packaging and delivery of products

• Compliance with requirements for approval of products under national and European legislation

• Compliance with European and national performance (effectiveness) standards for products

Treatment companies

• Safe design and operation of treatment plant(s) in accordance with the WPA Code of Practice

• Training and competence of plant operators

• Treatment of timber to the correct standards to ensure effectiveness in accordance with timber Use Class

• Delivery of appropriate advice on safe handling and correct use of treated timber to customers and users

Associates

Demonstration of competence in field of work, for example as consultants.
